Polluted streams cause great harm to the environment, the property they run through, farm animals, fish and wildlife, and the people, properties, and rivers that are downstream.
There are 3 main causes of an unhealthy or polluted stream ...

The Good News is that it is EASY to fix an unhealthy stream and make it healthy and clean again.
The Bad News is that it is VERY EXPENSIVE and can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to “mitigate” or “fix” an unhealthy stream.
And that is where we come in to help!
If your property qualifies and is approved for “Stream Mitigation” by the Army Corps of Engineers, then Partnership for Clean Water and Streams will coordinate with one of our “Sponsors” to pay fo ALL of the work and ALL of the costs. We coordinate and do everything for you and it’s all absolutely FREE!
We will also help you qualify for an Environmental Protection Tax Reimbursement Program that reimburses part or ALL of your property taxes for a minimum of 7 years.
Partnership for Clean Water and Streams is a Non-Profit Organization whose primary mission is the restoration and protection of streams and water quality in Georgia. All of our officers and directors are volunteers who donate their time, knowledge, and expertise for this great cause.

1. A design and plan is submitted to the Army
Corps of Engineers for approval. The Army Corps
of Engineers must approve all applications for
stream mitigation. We fill out all the paperwork for you and assign you a Sponsor to pay ALL the costs of
the application and paperwork which can exceed
$100,000.
2. Once the application is approved, work can begin. Partnership for Clean Water and Streams coordinates with one of our Stream Mitigation "Sponsors" to pay for and supervise the mitigation of the stream. The stream is reshaped to comlpy with the approved plan, then trees and other vegatation are planted as required by the Army Corps of Engineers.

1. Meet with someone from Partnership for Clean Water and Streams to make sure all of your questions are answered and that you understand how everything works.
2. Once you decide that you want to work with our Non-Profit organization, we will fill out all the required paperwork (including the Environmental Protection Tax Reimbursement Program application) for you to review and sign. We will then conduct an initial evaluation to determine if your property should qualify for approval before we submit the actual application to the Army Corps of Engineers.
3. We then submit the application to the Army Corps of Engineers and go through the approval process which takes about 8 months.
Once the application is approved, mitigation work begins and usually lasts about 6 months. During this process, the Army Corps of Engineers and the Environmental Protection Agency require a Conservation Easement (of approximately 100 feet on each side of the stream) to be recorded to help protect and preserve the stream and the restored stream banks.
Once again, we do all of this for you at no cost. You still own ALL of your property and can use, enjoy, or sell your property anytime you want. After the stream is restored back to health, we will monitor the water quality and survival of the plantings about once per year for approximately 7 years.
That’s all there is to it ...
A Sponsor pays for everything, we do all the paperwork and supervise everything, and you end up with a healthy stream and cleaner water.
